FSS#1: Pressed Flower Jewelry Class @ HCCC

Hey Artists!

Free Stuff Saturday comin' in flaunting some serious flower power vibes!

This Saturday, August 5th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm @ Houston Center for Contemporary Craft's Hands-On Houston* activity, join HCCC current resident artist, Rebecca Lynn Hewitt, to design and create a pressed-flower necklace. Walk through the HCCC Craft Garden to get inspiration for your design, then, arrange pressed plants and flowers with laser-cut wood pieces to assemble a nature-inspired necklace.

Want to get in some extra credit?? After you make your necklace:

1) Be sure to visit Rebecca’s studio to learn more about the jewelry-making process, and document your thoughts and a sketch of your favorite work in your sketchbook!

2) Go to the Front Gallery to see (and sit in) Annie Evelyn’s“Oshibana” chair, made from handmade paper and silk flowers. Major selfie key!

3) Bring in artistic evidence (photos, drawings, and the necklace) that you participated in the event to show your class and Ms. E!

Happy Crafting!!
